Art 1final porfolio

   1.   Which project was your favorite or most successful this semester?
I think my most successful project was my clay tile. It was fun to get to use the clay to bulid it. I learned to have to hollow out alot of the clay so it wont blow up in the kilm. It aslo helped me use skills we learned all semester long. We had to use texture to make it look more real. We got to paint them so we worked on blend colors together.  I think over all it just looked the best out of all of my art work.

   2.    Regardless of whether you liked or disliked a project, which one did you learn, grow, or developed the most from?
I learned alot from the print making. You learned how to use positive and negative space. Also how to blance the positve and negative space. We learned to use the gouge tools. The have diffrent sized one to cut out diffrent amounts of the linoleum. We learned what colors a good contrest with eachother. also i think it helped us with perspective because it was only a part of are orangle drawing in our sketch books. We also learned to use trace paper.

   3.    Choose 1 piece of Art that you used skills and techniques learned from previous projects. Discuss your growth as an artist and how you incorporated these skills and techniques to create the piece.
I feel we use alot of skills in the painting that we used in other projects. We also learned new skills in this project. We learned how to mix colors for this painting. Then we used skills we learned before for the rest of the painting pretty much. we used blending to make things flow together smoothly. We used shading to  give it more value. Things that were father away were darker then the things closer. I used shadows to make it not look like things were just floting. i think from when we learned to do all of this the first time and now i understand why it helps so much and the importants of doing it.

   4.    Which project do you feel was the least important in learning the concepts taught in this course? Please explain.
I think the Value portraits were the least imortant we learned. I did learn shading from this drawing but that was really all. I didnt really understand the circling the diffrent values of it. I feel like we learned more about tracing paper with the print making bcause we had to trace it the trace the back then trace it onto the lnolium. i also feel like i did better shadding other projects then this one. I think it did help teach something. It just wasnt very easy for me to understand what we were doing.
    5.  Choose a piece of artwork where the subject matter reflects you as an artist; one that you have a personal connection to. Please explain your choice.
I think the spray paint refects me most as artist. I really like to spray paint at home and it was alot of fun. it was cool to get to use photoshop to change the orgail picture to a black a white one to see the values. We used positve and negative space in this again to. We used Xacto knifes to cut out the stencil. This project i also have a personal connection to. This is because my family is from NJ and the landmark i chose was a staute from NJ.
